Hey, I'm Harrie! Nice to meet you!
I'm a disabled white gnc lesbian, and I live in England. I'm primarily a comic artist, much of my time is spent towards preparing my comic Heart of the Storm for release.
- Do you take requests or commissions?
- What program do you use?
- Geared towards making art (unlike photoshop, an image editor), so it feels very nice to draw in (very similar to paint tool sai) and
- Geared towards making comics and has animation features, unlike paint tool sai (completely lacking in necessary tools like text, a timeline, etc.).
- What's Heart of the Storm? What are your characters for?
- Who are the Wyrm Babies?
- Can we draw your characters?
- Do you plan to finish Poplocke?
You can find my current commission status on my toyhou.se profile, and my commission info is found here. I do not take requests, but if you have an art related question you're welcome to ask it and I'll get to you when I can.
General Art: Clip Studio Paint EX
I like CSP a lot because it's:
It's a very nice program! It's very much like a mix of PS & SAI, but with additional features geared towards comic making (perspective rulers, page management, panelling tools, etc).
My process is pretty program agnostic so if you're trying to get a similar feel to your art using CSP won't help in particular, but it's a nice program and I highly recommend checking it out. It goes on sale pretty often, generally around march, june, & november.
Personally I use CSP EX because I make a lot of comics. If you're not sure whether to get PRO or EX, I wrote a little post explaining the difference [link: here].
Pixel Art: Aseprite
Aseprite is just a very nice program for pixelling in! It does take a little getting used to, as it has its own workflow, but once you get a grasp on how it works it's very intuitive I think! It's timeline is particularly nice I think.
If you're looking for a free pixel art program, GraphicsGale is a classic which became freeware a while ago! I greatly prefer Aseprite, but hey! It's free, and it has all the features you need :^)
3D Modelling: Blender
I used to use Maya, but then I found out about the 2.8 update for blender actually completely overhauled its UI & reworked the program's workflow to be more intuitive and decided to check it out, and boy howdy! It's SO much nicer to model in than Maya, AND its free. sexy as hell I think! Yet to try out its rigging & animation workflows, which do happen to be Maya's strength so I may stick to that, but for actual modelling Blender is wonderful :)
Heart of the Storm is the name of my upcoming webcomic. You can keep an eye on my progress by visiting my blog, there's a progress bar in the sidebar! You can also find information about the rest of my characters and what projects they relate to there.
My friend's characters! You can find out more about them (& my own characters) on my character page.
I would be DELIGHTED! 🥺💕
Maybe!! I'm not done with it, but I can't guarantee that I'll go all the way to the league with it as I started it as a way to test the waters with long form comic making and always intended to prioritise original works if I had something I wanted to make—which I do! But while it's currently on the backburner, when HotS launches and I've a little more time and can spread my focus a little more, I do intend to pick it back up.
